About the Hitmen
The Lebanon Hitmen organization is one of non-profit that is aimed at giving men the opportunity to participate in America’s favorite sport, football. While promoting a family and fan friendly environment, The Lebanon Hitmen’s number one goal is to be an organization in which the greater Lebanon area perceives as a contribution to its youth. The Lebanon Hitmen understand that role models are substantial in the development of children and The Lebanon Hitmen are certainly working hard each day to display the leadership qualities needed to give those who look up to them a positive reflection.
Founded in 2001 the Hitmen were no stranger to success as they captured both an undefeated season (2-0-2) and the inaugural championship of the Middle Tennessee Football League. Though the following season of 2002 was still a successful one, the Hitmen faulted somewhat finishing as runners-up with a 3-2-1 overall record. The 2003 season began as the Hitmen became the Green Machine and though the name had changed the winning attitude still remained. The 2003 Green Machine finished with a 7-1 mark while claiming the MTFL crown for the second time in three years. As the 2004 season ended, Green Machine found themselves runners-up once more with an overall record of 8-2. 2005 marked a milestone in MTFL history, as the Green Machine, who finished with a 6-2 record, did not play for the MTFL Championship.
In hopes of returning to the dominant team of the past, the 2006 dropped the Green Machine label and reestablished the Lebanon Hitmen name once more. The return of the Hitmen name was ridden to an 8-0 record along with yet another MTFL championship. An outlook of the 2007 season is seemingly one of continued tradition and success, as the Hitmen would love nothing more than to repeat as MTFL champions. Although the road ahead is not one without challenge, the Hitmen know that success is not trophies you place on the wall or the ring you wear, it is the bonds you make with team mates, friends, and family that make a man prosperous.
