About the HitmenFounded in 2001, the Hitmen became a successful organization by capturing both an undefeated season (3-0-2) and the inaugural championship of the Middle Tennessee Football League. The 2002 Hitmen finished with an overall record of 3-2-1, but lost in the championship game. A change in leadership for the 2003 season saw the Lebanon Hitmen become the Donelson-Hermitage Green Machine. Even though the name had changed the winning attitude still remained. The 2003 Green Machine finished with a 7-1 mark while claiming the MTFL crown for the second time in three years. As the 2004 season ended, the Green Machine found themselves the runner-up once more in the championship game, but finished with an overall record of 8-2. The 2005 edition of the Green Machine were defeated in the 2nd round of the playoffs and finished 6-2. This was the first time the team did not play for the MTFL championship in league history.
In hopes of returning to the dominant team of the past, the 2006 team dropped the Green Machine name and reestablished the Lebanon Hitmen name once more. New leadership enabled the Hitmen to return to MTFL prominence by finishing with an 8-0 record along with yet another MTFL championship. The 2006 Hitmen were the first team in MTFL history to finish completely undefeated with no losses and no ties. The 2007 Lebanon Hitmen lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs and finished with an overall record of 6-2. In 2008, the Hitmen won their fourth league title and finished off another successul season with a record of 7-1. The 2009 season was a special one for the Lebanon Hitmen as they became the first team in MTFL history to win back-to-back MTFL championships. The Hitmen finished with an 8-0 record and captured their third undefeated season in team history.
The 2010 season for the Lebanon Hitmen was an interesting one to say the least. The Hitmen were decimated by injuries in the first half of the regular season, which lead to a 1-2 start and the team's first ever back-to-back losses in team history. A 2-1 record during the last three games of the regular season helped the Hitmen to a 3-3 mark heading into the postseason. All of the adversity and injuries that plagued the team throughout most of the season prepared the Hitmen for the playoffs. The Lebanon Hitmen won both of their playoff games to finish the season with an overall record of 5-3 and more importantly the Hitmen won an unprecedented 3rd consecutive MTFL championship.
